Fear of Failure?

Have you ever heard the term, “The Fear of Failure“?
Fear and Failure. The “F” words.
Sadly so many people go through their lives without achieving what they really want because they allow this “Fear of Failure” to stand in their way.
This is kind of ironic since failing is almost always a requirement to enjoying success.
Here are 3 reasons why “Failure” is a GREAT thing!
Inspiration:
If you tried to achieve something a 2nd, 3rd, 10th or 100th time without success, this can be a strong motivator to continue on and say “I am going to accomplish it This Time”
Humility:
We all have times when we have achieved some successes and our ego can get in our way. A failure can sometimes bring us back to reality and back on track to moving forward.
Learning:
When you were a child, how did you learn to walk and talk? Did you just wake up one day and were walking and talking? Of course not. It took day after day of trying, failing, learning from mistakes, and trying again. As adults we sometimes need to remember the lessons of our childhood. As children, we don’t take failure personally, and just continue learning and adapting until “mission accomplished“.
If you are not failing, you are not growing and will miss out on great opportunities to succeed!
I suggest going to bed each night and asking yourself: “Did I fail today?” If so, CONGRATULATIONS! Analyze why, think about what you could do differently and try again with a new plan!
Do not “Fear Failure”! Expect it, be excited for it and be willing to learn from it. Failure is the way to achieving success in all areas of your life.
I would love to hear YOUR stories of how you failed in some area and how you were able to learn from that to succeed.

A Good Gesture Can Go a Long Way!

One small, thoughtful gesture can make someone else's day...

1. Say "Good morning" to a person standing next to you in the elevator.
2. Pay the toll for the driver behind you.
3. Take a minute to direct someone who is lost, even though you're rushing.
4. Write a letter to a child who could use some extra attention. Kids love getting mail.
5. Offer to pick up groceries for an elderly neighbor, especially in extreme weather.
6. Give a homeless person your doggie bag.
7. Say "I love you" to someone you love.
8. Put a coin in an expired meter.
9. Help a mother carry her baby stroller up the subway stairs, or hold a door open for her.
10. Each time you get a new item of clothing, give away something old.
11. Take someone's shift as the car-pool parent.
12. Bring your assistant coffee.
13. Out of the blue, send flowers to a friend.
14. Say "please" and "thank you"—and really mean it.
15. When you're on a crowded train or bus, offer your seat to an elderly, disabled or pregnant person.

President's Day Fun with my daughter...

Today, my daughter and I went to eat at the Quiet Man restaurant!
http://web.me.com/quietmanpub/Quiet_Man_Pub/Welcome.html
We love Maureen O'hara and I thought it would be fun to take her there for lunch. She had the same food as Maureen O'hara had, Fish N'Chips, when Maureen visited the restaurant many years ago.
Great day with my daughter!

Be Happy!

There is only one person who can ever know exactly what you want and truly make you happy — that person is you!

A little info on Tide

Walmart  $10.94  Tide 2x Ultra, Clean Breeze, 100 fl oz

DIRECTIONS: Measure with cap
....use more for heavily soiled loads.
* Contains 64 loads as measured To line #1 on cap.

It SAYS “64 loads” on the front label – but on the back it says you get 64 loads only if you measure to line #1 on the cap.  Can you see line #1?   That’s the whole idea!  It’s the big scam!  They don’t want you to see it!  When you fill up the cap, you get about 21 wash loads – (unless you typically add a little more just for good measure)

That’s 52 cents per wash load!  By the time you’ve done 96 full loads, you would spend about $50.00!

I'll have to tell you about what I use...you get 96 wash loads for only 18 cents per load-

A note :  that isn't to mention the toxins in Tide.  Some people have thrown out their Tide when they use our products, and guess what, the garbage collector said that they couldn't take it, it was considered Toxic Waste!  That happened in Minnesota.  Ours' is better, safer and more cost effective than Tide and other major brands!

Did you get chocolate for Valentines Day?

I thought this was great news for us chocolate lovers! I love the DARK 70% or 80% chocolate!

You've heard of DM cough syrups. How about DC cough remedies? DM is an abbreviation for an over-the-counter cough suppressant called dextromethorphan. What is DC? It.s the nickname given by members of the DrGreene.com community to dark chocolate. Codeine is stronger against coughs than DM. Could DC be even more effective? And if so, how much chocolate would it take? Research published in the The FASEB Journal in February 2005 makes a strong case that dark chocolate can be a powerful cough suppressant. FASEB is the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, a coalition of biomedical and life scientists committed to enhancing life through solid scientific research. This is a mainline technical scientific group, not a wishful thinking group. They first published some of the results on chocolate and cough online on November 17, 2004 in FJ Express.

A cough is a healthy, protective reflex - part of the body's way of protecting and healing itself. But sometimes coughs can interfere with other important paths to health, such as sleep. Sometimes kids cough more or longer than useful for them, and parents turn to cough medicines to seek relief. In the United States alone, more than $2 billion dollars are spent each year on over-the-counter cough remedies. The evidence that the benefits of these outweigh the side effects is inconclusive. When stronger relief is desired, parents often turn to prescription cough medicines containing codeine or a similar compound. Wouldn't it be interesting if dark chocolate were even more powerful? Researchers at the National Heart and Lung Institute in London gave a series of disguised capsules to healthy volunteers. One week the capsules contained 60 mg of codeine, one week they contained 1000 mg of theobromine, an ingredient in chocolate, and one week they contained an inert placebo. The volunteers then inhaled increasing amount of capsaicin, an ingredient in red peppers used to stimulate coughing in research subjects. The codeine was effective at preventing coughs, but the cocoa ingredient was 33 percent more effective, preventing cough effectively for 4 hours, and had no side effects. The same results were seen in coughing guinea pigs, and when looking directly at the guinea pig and human vagus nerve, a nerve that triggers coughing.

How much chocolate would this be? Chocolate preparations vary widely, depending on their cocoa content, but dark chocolate often has up to about 450 mg of theobromine per ounce. Milk chocolate has far, far less. Two ounces of dark chocolate was about the amount of theobromine used for the adults in the study. Half that may be plenty for kids (but of course there is still a lot to learn about this marvelous food). Will that much chocolate keep them awake? Even though theobromine is structurally related to caffeine, studies have shown it doesn.t interfere with sleep at those amounts. I used some fine dark chocolate for my own family during our latest viral cough illness, and our coughs disappeared nicely. What a pleasant way to get through a cold!

Happy Valentines Day!

Last night, my daughter and I made chocolate roses to give out to her friends and teachers today.
We have all kinds of molds to use for all the holidays. We had so much fun together.

The process is so simple, and fun to make with the kids..Here's what you'll need..

Lolipop sticks
Chocolate chips
Spoon
Small bowl (I find a disposable paper bowl works best, as far as clean-up, and microwaving)

Place approx. 1/2 cup of chips in a microwavable bowl

You guessed it..Place it in the microwave and cook at 30 second intervals for about a minute and a half-2 minutes..stirring in between each minute.

Oh Yum..Here's where it starts getting really fun! Spoon your velvety chocolate into the mold.
Be sure to have your lolipop sticks in place!
(Don't worry, the "Licking the Spoon" step is coming up..)

Once you get the molds filled, gently give the tray a tap in order to let any air bubbles surface.
Place the tray on a flat surface in your freezer for 1 hour.
(Okay..chuck that disposable bowl in the trash and get to LICKING THAT SPOON!)

DING! Time's up!
TAA-DAAAA!

Sweet Heart Chocolate Rose Pops

Hoping you have lots of fun on Valentine's Day!

THE COMFORT ZONE...love this!

THE COMFORT ZONE

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.

The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
...I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.
I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

...I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye Click Me!and closed and locked the door.

If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; Success is there for you!
